Collection: Keshi Pearl Earrings
Keshi* Pearls are a kind of flat pearl that forms without a nucleus, so instead of creating a spherical shape, the nacre forms a disc. No two pairs are the same. I contrast these unique shapes with the preciseness of faceted semi-precious stones or freshwater pearls in the center. The ear wires are sterling silver plated with 18k gold (vermeil), left sterling where they rest in the ear, and they clip closed in the back.
*Keshi is a Japanese word also meaning "poppy" (ケシ, 芥子).
