Tiny Triangles-Batik

The "Batik" finish is my variation on the patterning technique on cloth which uses a wax resist and dyes to create a design. Instead, I draw a lacquer resist on polished sterling, dip it in a solution which heavily tarnishes the exposed silver. Then I remove the resist and burnish the sterling shape leaving a reverse satin gray pattern on the silver.

The earwires are 18k gold-vermeil, left sterling where they rest in your ears, and they clip closed in the back.
